- Proposed Rule Changes for Public Review and Comment
The Waste Management and Radiation Control Board approved proceeding with formal rulemaking with proposed changes to the hazardous waste, solid waste, and used oil rules to incorporate EPA’s hazardous waste generator improvements rule, as promulgated in the Federal Register on November 28, 2016 (81 FR 85732) as well as to make selected corrections and clarifications. Also included in this rulemaking is a proposed change to the used oil rules (R315-15-13) that will allow transit systems that generate used oil to transport their own used oil, under a permit-by-rule status, to a permitted used oil recycler in an equally protective and safe manner.
The public comment period begins June 1 and will conclude on July 3, 2017. Comments may be submitted via email to firstname.lastname@example.org or by standard mail addressed to the Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control, P.O. Box 144880, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84114-4880. Official publication of the proposed rule changes can be found in the June 1, 2017 issue ( Vol. 2017, No. 11) of the Utah State Bulletin and is available on June 1.
