This chart shows how the five most important pollutants during an inversion are distributed with respect to source-type.

It's important to note that the PM2.5 we are showing here is direct (or primary) PM2.5. Direct PM2.5 is relatively small compared to some other precursor gasses. However, a reduction in direct PM2.5 translates to a direct effect on particulate pollution.
