Monitoring for harmful algal blooms on November 2, 2022
Recreation water quality monitoring has ended for the season.
As of last sampling on 10/21 a HAB was present at Currant Creek Reservoir. Know how to recognize the signs of a harmful algal bloom and recreate safely.
Monitoring will resume in summer 2023.

HEALTH WATCH
A Health Watch is in effect for Currant Creek Reservoir.
BE CAREFUL: A monitoring team saw signs of harmful algae. There could be dangerous toxins in the water. Samples were collected and results are pending. Check back for updates. In the meantime, we recommend:
- Do not swim or water ski in areas of algae
- Avoid areas of algae when boating
- Clean fish well and discard guts
- Keep animals away
- Don’t drink the water
- Know how to recognize the signs of a harmful algal bloom
The Division of Water Quality and the Utah Department of Health will monitor this site for waterborne pathogens this summer, beginning in June 2022. We will share updates here.
