Monitoring for harmful algal blooms on November 8, 2022
Recreation water quality monitoring has ended for the season. Southwest Utah Health Department has removed the Warning Advisory.
As of last observation, a HAB was still present at Kolob Reservoir. Know how to recognize the signs of a harmful algal bloom and recreate safely.
Monitoring will resume in summer 2023.

WARNING ADVISORY
The Southwest Utah Health Department has issued a Warning Advisory for Kolob Reservoir.
BE CAREFUL: There have been reported visible signs of a harmful algal bloom. There could be algae in the water producing dangerous toxins.Samples have been collected and results are pending. Check back for updates. In the meantime, we recommend:
Under a Warning Advisory:
- Do not swim or water ski
- Avoid areas of algae when boating
- Clean fish well and discard guts
- Keep animals away
- Don’t drink the water
- Learn what this means for visiting safely
