Department has removed the Warning Advisory.
As of last observation, a HAB was still present at Panguitch Lake. Know how to recognize the signs of a harmful algal bloom and recreate safely.
Monitoring will resume in summer 2023.

WARNING ADVISORY
Southwest Utah Health Department has issued a Warning Advisory for Panguitch Lake.
Under a Warning Advisory:
- Do not swim or water ski
- Avoid areas of algae when boating
- Clean fish well and discard guts
- Keep animals away
- Don’t drink the water
- Learn what this means for visiting safely
BE CAREFUL: Sampling on 9/6 showed the continued presence of a harmful algal bloom at Panguitch Lake. Dangerous toxins may be present in the water.

A Health Watch is in effect for Panguitch Lake
BE CAREFUL: A volunteer from the Utah HAB Squad and a staff member from UDWR reported visible signs of a harmful algal bloom. There could be algae in the water producing dangerous toxins. We will collect samples this week. Check back here for updates.
