Update July 16, 2021 (Waterborne Pathogens)

On July 13th, the DWQ waterborne pathogens monitoring team visited Rockport Reservoir. Samples from near the Highland Picnic area and at western beach near SR32 MP 25.9 did not contain E. coli above recreational thresholds. Routine sampling will continue monthly.


Update July 14, 2021 (HABs)

The DWQ HABs monitoring team re-visited Rockport Reservoir on July 13th. Harmful algal blooms were observed at the western beach near SR32 MP 25.9. Cyanotoxin and cell density samples were collected, and results are pending. Harmful algal blooms were not observed at the Highland Picnic Area or Marina beach boat storage. As UDWQ and UDOH continue to visit and monitor waterbodies, updates will be posted.


Update June 14, 2021 (Waterborne Pathogens)

On June 3rd, the DWQ waterborne pathogens monitoring team visited Rockport Reservoir. Samples from near the Highland Picnic area and at western beach near SR32 MP 25.9 did not contain E. coli above recreational thresholds. Routine sampling will continue monthly.

On June 3rd, the DWQ HABs monitoring team visited Rockport Reservoir. The monitoring team did not observe a harmful algal bloom. Cyanotoxin and cell density samples were not collected. As UDWQ and UDOH continue to visit and monitor waterbodies, updates will be posted.
