Update October 27, 2021 (HABs)

The DWQ HABs monitoring team visited Rockport Reservoir on October 27th. Harmful algal blooms were not observed at all sites visited. Cyanotoxin and cell density samples were not collected. As UDWQ and UDOH continue to visit and monitor waterbodies, updates will be posted.


Update September 10, 2021 (Waterborne Pathogens)

On September 8th, the DWQ waterborne pathogens monitoring team visited Rockport Reservoir. Samples from near the Highland Picnic area and at western beach near SR32 MP 25.9 did not contain E. coli above recreational thresholds. Routine sampling will continue monthly.


Update September 9, 2021 (HABs)

The DWQ HABs monitoring team visited Rockport Reservoir on September 8th. Harmful algal blooms were not observed at all sites visited. Cyanotoxin and cell density samples were not collected. As UDWQ and UDOH continue to visit and monitor waterbodies, updates will be posted.


Update August 31, 2021 (HABs)

Samples taken from the reservoir on Aug 26, 2021 show toxigenic cell density results below UDWQ/UDOH recommended Warning Advisory threshold of 100,000 cells/mL. Routine monitoring will resume monthly.


Update August 27, 2021 (HABs)

The DWQ HABs monitoring team visited Rockport Reservoir on August 26th. Harmful algal blooms were observed at all sites visited. Cyanotoxin and cell density samples were collected, and results are pending. As UDWQ and UDOH continue to visit and monitor waterbodies, updates will be posted.


Update August 6, 2021 (Waterborne Pathogens)

On August 5th the DWQ waterborne pathogens monitoring team visited Rockport Reservoir. Samples from near the Highland Picnic area and at western beach near SR32 MP 25.9 did not contain E. coli above recreational thresholds. Routine sampling will continue monthly.

On July 13th, the DWQ waterborne pathogens monitoring team visited Rockport Reservoir. Samples from near the Highland Picnic area and at western beach near SR32 MP 25.9 did not contain E. coli above recreational thresholds. Routine sampling will continue monthly.


Update July 14, 2021 (HABs)

The DWQ HABs monitoring team re-visited Rockport Reservoir on July 13th. Harmful algal blooms were observed at the western beach near SR32 MP 25.9. Cyanotoxin and cell density samples were collected, and results are pending. Harmful algal blooms were not observed at the Highland Picnic Area or Marina beach boat storage. As UDWQ and UDOH continue to visit and monitor waterbodies, updates will be posted.

On June 3rd, the DWQ waterborne pathogens monitoring team visited Rockport Reservoir. Samples from near the Highland Picnic area and at western beach near SR32 MP 25.9 did not contain E. coli above recreational thresholds. Routine sampling will continue monthly.
