HEALTH WATCH
BE CAREFUL: Samples taken on 10/14 confirmed the presence of harmful algae at Steinaker Reservoir. TriCounty Health Department plans to keep a Health Watch in effect until there is no longer visible evidence of widespread algae growth.
Until then, we recommend:
- Do not swim or water ski in areas of algae
- Avoid areas of algae when boating
- Clean fish well and discard guts
- Keep animals away
- Don’t drink the water
- Know how to recognize the signs of a harmful algal bloom

A Health Watch is in effect for Steinaker Reservoir.
BE CAREFUL: A monitoring team saw signs of harmful algae. There could be dangerous toxins in the water. Samples were collected and results are pending. Check back for updates. In the meantime, we recommend:
- Do not swim or water ski in areas of algae

GOOD NEWS: E. coli counts were measured below Utah Department of Health recreational thresholds. Sampling did not indicate the presence of illness-causing waterborne pathogens.
