Update June 20, 2019
A Division of Water Quality (DWQ) monitoring crew detected elevated levels of E. coli on June 3, 2019, during routine sampling at Rockport Reservoir. E. coli values from these initial samples were well above the advisory threshold, and subsequent sampling over the next two weeks showed them continuing to climb. Several samples exceeded the highest measurable value for E. coli.
Summit County Health Department issued a health advisory based on these data and posted signs advising the public to not swim or wade in the water.
