Our Commitment
The Utah Department of Environmental Quality is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and apply the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards to our web presence.
Legacy Documents and Archival Content
As part of our commitment to transparency, DEQ maintains a large archive repository of historical documents, reports, and administrative forms in PDF and other electronic formats. Many of these documents were published prior to current accessibility standards and are maintained for historical or administrative reference. This archive also includes documents submitted to us by external third parties, which may not have been created according to our current accessibility standards.
Due to the sheer volume of these files, resolving every legacy document constitutes a significant administrative and financial burden. Consequently, these specific archived documents may not be fully accessible to screen reader software.
