DEQ District Engineers
Our District Engineers are DEQ’s dedicated, on-the-ground representatives across Utah, providing local support to communities, businesses, and local health departments. They are often the best first point of contact for a wide range of local and regional environmental issues.
You should contact your District Engineer for assistance with:
- Local complaints: Initial reporting and questions about air, water, or waste concerns in your area.
- Permitting and regulations: Questions about permitting for water, wastewater, air, and solid waste, especially for new or small businesses.
- Compliance assistance: Helping businesses and public water or wastewater systems understand and meet environmental requirements.
- Local government coordination: Serving as a direct link between local governments and DEQ’s main offices.

Local Health Departments
