How to register

1. Submit an application

• Exam applications are valid for 6 months from the day you receive your eligibility email. During your eligibility window, exam attempts may be made without providing another application to the Division of Water Quality. There is a 30-day waiting period after each exam attempt before you may take the same exam again. If you would like to take the exam after your eligibility window expires, you must reapply by submitting a new exam application and fee to the Division of Water Quality.
• If you have previously submitted an exam application, check to make sure you do not already have an active eligibility window for your requested exam.

• Submit an exam application to [email protected]. Make sure to include your personal email on the application so that PSI can contact you about registering, scheduled exams, and any issues that may arise.
• Pay the $50 exam application fee for each unique classification and grade exam requested.

2. Schedule your exam

• Wait 1-2 weeks to receive a registration email from PSI. The Division of Water Quality sends an eligibility list to PSI every Monday (excluding holidays), so registration emails will be sent to examinees on Mondays.
• Register for an account with PSI using the 4-digit Test Taker ID in your registration email. If you have taken a computer-based exam with PSI before, you can simply log into your account.
• You will only be able to register for the exams that have been requested via exam application to the Division of Water Quality. When you register, you will pay the current testing fee of $106 to PSI for the approved exam.
• You can register for an exam with PSI 6 weeks in advance. To get your preferred exam date and location, register 4 to 6 weeks before you want to take it.

3. Take the exam

• Before testing, read the Candidate Handbook to prepare.

4. After the exam

• After you take the exam, you will receive your scores immediately from the test center supervisor or live remote proctor.
• If you want to retake the exam, you will have a 30-day waiting period before you may take the exam again. Use the RESCHEDULE option on your account to reschedule an exam.
• To take the exam again within the original 6-month eligibility period
  
  • You will NOT need to submit a new application and fee to the Division of Water Quality.
  • You WILL need to pay PSI’s current testing center fee of $106.
• Once we receive a passing score from PSI, we will issue and mail your certificate to the preferred mailing address currently on file with us.

How to register

1. Submit an application

• Submit an exam application to [email protected]
• Don’t forget the Citizenship/Alien ID form, notarized with copy of your ID (see application page for instructions)
• Pay the $200 exam fee BEFORE THE APPLICATION DEADLINE (4 weeks before exam date)

2. Verify your information is correct

• Once your eligibility is confirmed, you will be added to the exam roster
• Check that your information is correct
• If the exam type listed with your name is incorrect, contact us immediately at [email protected] , (385) 600-9401 or (801) 536-4344

• We are charged for every exam ordered and/or corrected.
• If you cannot attend, your exam fee cannot be refunded nor credited for the next exam if it is canceled after the application deadline.
• However, if someone can be found to take your place, you will be refunded the exam fee.
• Call if you cannot attend the test.
