Mercury

Mercury is a toxic metal that can build up in fish, waterfowl, and the environment, which is why we, the Utah Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) issue advisories, provide disposal guidance, and respond to spills and other mercury-related concerns.

We manage mercury-related information across several divisions, including the Division of Water Quality (DWQ), the Division of Environmental Response and Remediation (DERR), and the Division of Air Quality (DAQ).
