Environmental Incident Database User Guide

In August 2024, we updated the Environmental Incident Database (EID) and launched the new public portal. The portal will be a great addition to helping the public search for environmental incidents reported to DEQ.

Access the spills database

or

Click “DEQ Spills Database” at

Search for an incident

There are two ways to search.

Option 1: Detailed search box

The first option is through the detailed search box on the home page.

Available search criteria

  • Report #
  • Title/Event Name
  • Responsible Party Name
  • Company
  • Address/Location
  • Nearest Town/City
  • Lead Agency
  • County
  • Date/Time Reported
  • Material/Chemical
  • Impacted Media (this criteria is only searchable via this detailed search box, not the search bar in the header of the site)

View a detailed report

After searching, select the “Details” button to view a PDF report of each incident.

Coming soon: map

The map feature is currently under development.

Option 2: Search bar

The second way to search is using the search bar in the header of the site.

Available search criteria

  • Report #
  • Title/Event Name
  • Responsible Party Name
  • Company
  • Address/Location
  • Nearest Town/City

To search by Impacted Media, use the first search option instead of the header search bar.

Search bar results

After entering the criteria in the search bar and pressing enter, the database will display a list of related environmental incidents.

View the PDF report

Click the hyperlinked “Report #” option.
