Day 1 Calculate Your Carbon Footprint:
Earth Day

April 10

Your carbon footprint is the amount of carbon dioxide and other carbon compounds emitted as a result of your activities. There are two kinds of footprints—one primary and the other secondary. Your primary footprint is the direct carbon dioxide emissions from the fossil fuels that you burn to operate your furnace, water heater, or car. Your secondary footprint is the indirect emissions from the manufacture of the products, services and food that you purchase or use.

Calculate your carbon footprint today to estimate your total household emissions. Reduce your emissions by participating in some or all of the activities listed below. At the end of the 12 Days, see how these actions can help reduce your carbon footprint over the course of a year.
