Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to recycle gas-powered equipment to get the bundle?
Yes, you are required to recycle a minimum of 6 pieces of gas-powered equipment (trimmer(s), hedger(s), edger(s), chainsaw(s), and/or leaf blower(s)). You will not receive an incentive (partial or otherwise) for recycling any other gas-powered equipment.
How many gas-powered trimmers, chainsaws, edgers, hedgers, and leaf blowers can I recycle for credit?
To receive a bundle, you must recycle a minimum of 6 gas-powered units.
- 5 or less units recycled = no bundle
- 6 units recycled = $3,000 bundle value
- 7+ units recycled = $3,000 bundle value
There is no additional incentive for recycling more than 6 items, but we encourage you to include all eligible equipment to maximize the program’s impact on Utah’s air quality!
Can I pick up my bundle from any store?
No. Only participating store locations will accept recycled equipment and provide bundles. Locate the participating retailer locations on the map at the bottom of this page.
Can I customize my bundle?
No. Each of our retailers is offering a customized variety of bundles that have been pre-approved for the program. Browse all of your options and choose the one that best suits your needs.
What if I recycle 6 units, get a $3,000 bundle, and go back to the store to recycle more units? Will I get another bundle?
No. The Charge Your Yard Program only allows lawn care businesses to apply for one $3,000 bundle. Our system will recognize your business has already received a credit and will not allow you to proceed.
What equipment will be included in the bundles?
Each bundle will include a variety of battery-operated string trimmers, hedge trimmers, edgers, chainsaws, leaf blowers, batteries, and chargers valued at $3,000 or more.
Do I have to pay for my bundle?
You will be required to pay a remaining balance (anything over $3,000) at the time of pickup.
For example, if your business selects a bundle with 3 battery string trimmers, 2 battery chainsaws, and 2 chargers valued at $3,450 total you will be required to pay $450 out of pocket at the time of pickup.
Browse the bundle options carefully to select the one that best suits your budget and needs.
What if I am not available on the day I need to pick up my bundle?
If you, and/or your staff, are not available to pick up your bundle on the designated day, contact [email protected] for arrangements.
