Utah Wildfires
The Utah Wildfire Info website is a collaborative effort between the Utah Department of Natural Resources, Bureau of Land Management, Forest Service, Fish and Wildlife Service, and Bureau of Indian Affairs. The site shows maps of active wildfires, allows viewers to report a wildfire, and provides information on how to prevent wildfires. The public can also find information on fireworks bans as well as campfire and other burn restrictions.
Regional Wildfires
The InciWeb National Wildfire tracker is a product of the National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG), a multi-agency partnership established to ensure safe, effective, and coordinated national wildfire operations. InciWeb is an incident information system that provides detailed descriptions of each wildfire, including regular updates, acreage involved, cause, the current situation, planned actions, estimated containment date, and weather conditions.
Wildfire Satellite Imagery
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) uses satellite imagery for its Fire Information and Resource Management System (FIRMS), a resource that provides information about wildfires 24/7 to anyone anywhere in the world. Individuals can sign up to receive free email alerts notifying them of fires in their area.
