Utah State University’s Bingham Research Center presents the results of simultaneous aerial and ground-based optical gas imaging surveys conducted in winter and spring 2018. They compare the results from aerial and ground-based survey platforms, make comparisons among all the optical gas imaging surveys that have been conducted in the Uinta Basin, and investigate the impacts of meteorological and surface conditions, well pad properties, pad ownership, and other factors on the frequency and qualitative size of detected emissions.
