Mission
The Utah Air Quality Board enact rules pertaining to Air Quality activities and develops State Implementation Plans to attain and maintain National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS). Because of this statutory authority, the Board is the primary air quality policy maker for the State of Utah. DAQ staff support the Board in this responsibility.
Members
Utah Air Quality Board members must be knowledgeable of air pollution matters and represent specific interests, professions, and industries. Board members are appointed by the governor and confirmed by the senate.
