BE CAREFUL: A harmful algal bloom is present at Deer Creek Reservoir. Algae in the water may be producing dangerous toxins that can make humans and animals sick.

September 12, 2024: Harmful algal bloom (HAB) monitoring update

KEEP OUT: A harmful algal bloom is present at the Charleston Day-Use Area. Algae in the water is producing high levels of dangerous toxins. Accidentally drinking this water may hurt or kill humans and animals. Any exposure to this water may cause illness.

Wasatch County Health Department has issued a DANGER ADVISORY.

OKAY, BUT BE CAREFUL: Two weeks of sampling indicate that a harmful algal bloom is no longer present in this area. Conditions may change quickly, so know how to recognize a harmful algal bloom and avoid areas of visible algae when recreating.

GOOD NEWS: E. coli counts were measured below Utah Department of Health recreational thresholds. Sampling suggests that the water is safe from harmful bacteria and viruses.
