Water Quality

Funding Available for Water Quality and Wastewater Infrastructure Projects

The Utah Division of Water Quality’s (DWQ) Clean Water State Revolving Fund Loan Program (SRF) on average, receives a combined $9 million dollars a year from State and Federal funding and, on average, an additional $15 million in funding each year from loan repayments. This money is to be used to fund water quality and wastewater infrastructure projects in Utah.

State Revolving Fund (SRF)

The Clean Water State Revolving Fund (SRF) is administered by the Utah Water Quality Board through the staff of the Engineering Section of the Division of Water Quality.

ARPA Funds

During the 2022 State of Utah legislative session the legislature provided ARPA funds appropriations for three groups of projects. Please see the ARPA webpage for current details on: 1. Utah Lake Preservation Funds, 2. Southern Utah – Recycle/Reuse Funds, and 3. West Weber Site Sewer Infrastructure Fund.

First Round

  • June 30: Applications Deadline
  • July 31: Publish PPL
  • August Water Quality Board Meeting: Project Introductions to Water Quality Board
  • October Water Quality Board Meeting: Project Authorizations

Second Round

  • Applications Cancelled. All Fiscal Year funds were obligated during First Round
  • December 31: Application Deadline
  • January 31: Publish PPL
  • February Water Quality Board Meeting: Project Introductions to Water Quality Board
  • Mid-March: Finance Committee Meets
  • April Water Quality Board Meeting: Project Authorizations
