The Jordan River is a popular recreational corridor flowing north from Utah Lake through Utah and Salt Lake Counties. WARNING: Do not swim, be cautious when boating, and eating fish is OK.

August 8, 2025: Harmful algal bloom (HAB) monitoring update

BE CAREFUL: A harmful algal bloom is present in the Jordan River. Algae in the water may be producing dangerous toxins that can make humans and animals sick. 

If you visit the Jordan River:

Do not swim, be cautious boating, do not eat fish.

BE CAREFUL: A harmful algal bloom is present at the Jordan River. Algae in the water may be producing dangerous toxins that can make humans and animals sick.
