Warning Advisory

WARNING: Do not swim, be cautious when boating, and eating fish is OK.

June 11, 2024: Harmful algal bloom (HAB) monitoring update

BE CAREFUL: A harmful algal bloom is present in Provo Bay. Algae in the water may be producing dangerous toxins that can make humans and animals sick. 

Utah County Health Department has issued a WARNING ADVISORY for Provo Bay.

Sites visited: Lindon Marina beach NE of launch ramps, Lindon Marina S dike, 2 miles W of Vineyard, 1 mile W of Provo boat harbor, 50 meters N of Utah Lake SP N dike, Utah Lake State Park Marina W side of marina near south jetty, 1 mile SE of Bird Island, Saratoga Springs Marina boat ramp, American Fork beach, American Fork Marina.

May 23, 2024: Waterborne pathogen (E. coli) & harmful algal bloom (HAB) monitoring update

GOOD NEWS: E. coli counts were measured below Utah Department of Health recreational thresholds. Sampling suggests that the water is safe from harmful bacteria and viruses. No signs of harmful algae were observed.

Site sampled: Lincoln Marina, shore NE of Spanish Fork inlet, S of Lincoln Marina, Utah Lake State Park Marina, Lindon Beach, American Fork Beach, American Fork Marina, Lincoln Beach N of Lincoln Marina, Saratoga Springs Marina boat ramp, Saratoga Springs picnic area.
